BR Period Locomotives: lnwrbns_br1805
Ex-LMS 2MT 2-6-2T No 41226 is seen arriving at Platform 5
with a local passenger service probably originating from Sutton Coldfield in
1953. Built with Push-Pull equipment, which can be seen adjacent to the
smokebox, this design whilst being a LMS class designed by HG Ivatt was built
under British Railways ownership in October 1948 by Crewe works and was to
remain in service until September 1964 when it was withdrawn from Bangor shed
although stored at the shed for a period before it was finally scrapped in
November 1965 by Bird's of Morriston in Swansea.
