Ex-LMS 4P 4-4-0 Compound No 41157 and ex-LMS 4-6-0 Jubilee class No 45662 'Kempenfelt' are standing at the West end of New Street

Ex-LMS 4P 4-4-0 Compound No 41157 and ex-LMS 4-6-0 Jubilee class No 45662 'Kempenfelt' are standing at the West end of New Street station. Fowler designed No 41157 is standing at Platform 11 and as its allocated to Derby shed has probably come off a service from the East Midlands whilst Stanier designed Jubilee No 45662 is on an express passenger service to the West Country. Built by the North British Locomotive Company in September 1925 No 41157 was to remain in service until May 1960 when it was officially withdrawn from Derby shed to be scrapped in November 1960 by Doncaster Plant after being in store since August 1960. Jubilee No 45662 was built at Derby works in December 1934 and remained in service until November 1962 when it was withdrawn from Shrewsbury shed to be scrapped in January 1963 by Crewe works.
