British Railways Type 4 1Co-Co1 D42 is seen departing Platform 4 at 3 31pm on a Cardiff to the North East express service on Sunday 12th September 1965. Later renumbered as Class 45034, D42 remained in service until July 1987 when it became part of the departmental stock as 97411 until it was finally withdrawn and scrapped in May 1992 by MC Metals of Glasgow.
