British Railways Standard Class 7MT 4-6-2 No 70031 'Byron' is about to depart platform 3 with an up express on 20th April 1955. Built by Crewe works in November 1952, No 70031 was to remain in service until November 1967 when it was withdrawn from 12A Kingmoor shed in Carlisle to be scrapped by J McWilliams of Shettleston.
