Ex-LMS 5XP 4-6-0 No 45674 'Duncan' and ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 45434 are seen standing at platforms 5 and 6 respectively on 23rd June 1962. The Stanier Black 5 was built by Armstrong Whitworth in November 1937 and remained in service until August 1966 when it was withdrawn from 5B Crewe South shed to be scrapped by J Cashmores of Great Bridge.
