Ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 45299 is seen disappearing into
Worcester Street tunnel at the head of empty coaching stock off a Manchester to
Birmingham express on 6th Feb 1958. Built by the Armstrong Whitworth Company in
January 1937 No 45299 was to remain in service until November 1967 when it was
withdrawn from Birkenhead shed to be scrapped in April 1968 by J Cashmore of
Great Bridge.
