Birmingham New Street Station
LNWR Locomotives: lnwrbns_pg444
View of LNWR 2-4-2T '4ft 6in' tank engine No 769 blowing off
steam as it stands light engine on the up middle road at New Street station
circa 1906. Short coal rails have been fitted which are fitted behind the tool
boxes. The locomotive is carrying three head code lamps on the smokebox which
indicates that its last or next trip was on an empty passenger service. There
were two tool boxes fitted on either side of the bunker immediately behind the
cab which were accessed via doors in the rear of the cab. See image 'lnwrbns_pg449' for a view of the otherside of the
bunker and the other tool box.
