Navigation Street is seen traversing the photograph on a North to South axis, whilst Hill Street is seen on a West to East axis. Opposite the entrance to Queens Drive is the junction of John Bright Street with Hill Street. To the North of the station the junction between Navigation Street and Pinfold Street can be seen with Stephenson Street forming the third side of the triangular building and continuing in front of the Queens Hotel. The triangular building accommodated the Guild Hall buildings whilst behind on the other side of Stephenson Street was the Theatre Royal.
