Looking East from beneath Hill Street bridge along Platform 1 with the Queen's Hotel towering above the station on 2nd April 1964. At this stage of the rebuilding of New Street station the emphasis was on rebuilding bridges and realigning the track prior to the serious business of demolition of the platforms and buildings.
