Birmingham New Street Station: lnwrbns_str1778

An elevated view of the snow covered disused and dismantled turntable situated opposite New Street No 5 Signal Cabin with the remains of the tank house behind on 5th February 1963. The large water tank which provided the water for the station's many water columns sat over two mess rooms provided for both enginemen and the station's Permanent Way gangs. To the right can be seen part of No 5 signal box which was made redundant by the New Street's Power Box built on the site of the turntable.
