Looking West towards New Street No 5 Signal Cabin with New Street's new Power Box seen above Navigation Street bridge on 22nd May 1965. The Power Box which would control both the station and the surrounding lines around Birmingham was built on the site of the turntable and water tank that lay opposite No 5 Signal Cabin. The rebuilding of the Midland portion of the station is now more advanced with a new bridge carrying Navigation Street and Hill Street now substantially in place.
