View of the Queens and North Western Hotel showing the
enlarged wings and private access road to the front of the building. Whilst
noted on the card and within the station confines as being the Queen's
Hotel its full name, which can just be seen above the third floor windows,
included a reference to the railway company too. The hotel has been extended by
the addition of three floors to the wing on the left and by one floor to the
wing on the right. The hotel is flying the Union Flag on the left whilst on the
right the White Ensign as used by the Royal Navy is being flown. Richard
Foster's copy of the above postcard which was sold by the hotel is dated 30th
Oct 1904 and was used by a guest of the hotel to confirm to his family of his
safe arrival.
