The narrowness of Platform 3 can be gauged in this close up as the farthest carriage is standing at Platform 3 just a few feet from the columns which formed the boundary with Queens Drive. The LNWR has taken the opportunity to erect poster boards suspended between the columns as advertising space whilst on the internal face of the left hand column the platform number '3' is displayed. Above the handsom cab are Refreshment Rooms signs for both companies and in the Midland extension, a Gentlemen Lavatory sign too.
