Birmingham New Street Station: lnwrbns_str1914
View of the LMS advertising hoarding erected at the corner
of Hill Street and Queens Drive which is off to the right. Again the emphasis
of these posters is self-promotion with the posters advertising a range of
services to holiday destinations and to London. Richard Foster notes in his
third volume of his four-part history of the station that the LMS were being
disingenuous by advertising that there was no quicker way to London because the
LMS had an agreement with the GWR that there should be no quicker way. A visit
to Snow Hill would find the GWR advertising a two-hour service too with the
message that there was no quicker way. 28th May 1925
