the left of the entrance to the fish, milk and carriage loading yard. The
entrance to the Midland portion of New Street via Station Street was to the
right of this entrance. Richard Foster states that all of the railway companies
focused on the increasing leisure activity of rambling tours as this was a
lucrative form of business using cheap fares at off-peak times to country
