A 1963 view of Stephenson Street with the Queens Hotel and New Street station on the right. This view is looking east along Stephenson Street with the Queen’s Hotel and New Street station on the right hand side of the road. Exchange Buildings are seen facing us on the left at the end of the street which was wider in those days than it is now. The entrance to the station (and the public right of way across the station’s footbridge) passed discreetly through the hotel building, an oddly understated entrance to such a grand facility as New Street station.
