Ex-LMS 4-6-0 No 44771 passes Humber Road junction on 9th November 1963 with an up Type 8 freight train. A Type 8 service was not fitted with automatic brakes and consequently a maximum speed limit of 35 mph was imposed. Where fitted vehicles are in attendance then they are required to be placed next to the engine and connected to the locomotive's braking system. Built as LMS No 4771 at Crewe works in May 1947 No 44771 was to remain in service until March 1967 when it was withdrawn from 6A the former Midland Chester shed.
