Another view of the rear of a Steam Shovel or 'Steam Navvy' excavating the Coventry Loop Line near to Three Spires Junction. The photo appeared in the Coventry Graphic's edition published on 21st November 1913. The photo was credited to A Mundy. Titled 'Railway Building at Foleshill.' The caption to the two photographs reads: 'Considerable progress is being made with the new line at Foleshill, which in these days of very permanent 'ways' affords a unique opportunity of witnessing the construction of a railroad track. The above photos give a good idea of the state of the work at present and show the huge steam navvy at work excavating the earth at the side of the line.
