Looking south towards the partly built passenger bridge which connects all four platforms to the booking hall in the concourse. The two large concrete columns are the lift shafts whilst the flight of steps to the platforms abut the lift front of the shafts. The steelwork seen beneath the photographer makes up the roof joists to the canopy covering the island platform buildings and platform 2 and 3. On the left between the scaffolding can be seen the five arched parcel depot which was completed by the time of this photograph.
