Coventry Shed: lnwrcov1587

Ex-LMS 2-6-4T 4P No 42541 and ex-LMS 2-6-0 2MT No 46445 are seen standing standing with other locomotives at Coventry's old shed circa mid-1950s. Built as LMS No 2541 at Derby works to Lot 127 in December 1935 it remained in service until December 1962 when it was withdrawn from Rugby shed to be scrapped in May 1963 by Crewe works. The 2MT Mogul No 46445 was built at Crewe works and was another LMS design built under the British Railways' regime until their own Standard class design was produced. Built at Crewe works in February 1949 it remained in service until June 1966 when it was withdrawn from Saltley shed in Birmingham to be scrapped during October 1966 by TW Ward Ltd of Killamarsh.
