Ex-LMS 3MT 2-6-2T No 40135 is seen with a derailed 57 ft ex-LMS brake adjacent to Coventry No 2 Signal box on 21st November 1959. The coach was derailed when No 40135 was reversing from the down line to the up line the points when the bobby in the signal box changed the points after the bogie had started to return back on to the down line. The coach was being used to transport parcels and mail between the down and up platforms after the luggage bridge was demolished during rebuilding. Built as LMS No 135 at Derby works in October 1935 No 40135 remained in service until November 1962 when it was withdrawn from Nuneaton shed to be scrapped during August 1964 by Crewe works.
