BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No 80081 is seen derailed and fouling the mainline inside the sidings of the old parcel depot. This accident would have caused a great headache to 'control' as the locomotive would be preventing trains from approaching the up platform. The locomotive's bogie plus the rear two axles are off the rails so it will not be a very speedy job. Any up through traffic will have to pass via the through line (the line behind the men) and if calling at Coventry station would then need to reverse into the platform. The locomotive will be re-railed by jacking up the wheels above the rails and packing timber underneath. Then the wheels would be slid horizontally by jacking sideways until they are above the rails. As my old boss would say 'Simple. So what's you problem?'. Number 80081 was built at Brighton to Lot No 6166 in March 1954 and had a very short life-span being withdrawn in June 1965 from Bournemouth Central shed to be scrapped in October 1965 by Birds of Morriston.
