Ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F No 48723 is seen crossing over on to the Nuneaton lines at the head of a down mixed freight service. Built by Brighton works in August 1944 on the Southern Railway for the LNER as one of their class 07's, it was later transferred to the LMS and given the LMS running number 8723. It remained in service until the final month of steam being withdrawn in August 1968 from one of the final bastions of steam, Lostock Hall shed, and was then cut up in December 1968 by TW Ward Ltd of Beighton near Sheffield.
