Inside the Coventry Goods Shed used to tranship road vehicles, in this instance a Hillman Minx, in September 1948. The caption to the article in the Coventry Evening Telegraph stated, 'Yet another Coventry model is loaded onto freight cars, bound for a waiting world. This is the new look Hillman Minx, unveiled in September, 1948 and praised for its 'beautifully proportioned' lines. Built at Ryton, the car was three years in the planning stage and marked the Rootes Group's early attempts at the new post war sleek designs'. Its basic price was £395 (purchase tax was £110 9s 5d) only £10 dearer than the pre-war model it replaced. The same shed can be seen in image 'lnwrcov617' with the later Hillman Minx model on view.
