LMS 4-4-0 4P Compound No 1130 pilots classmate No 1129 on a down Euston to Birmingham semi-fast express service circa 1927. Built at Horwich works in January 1926 it remained in service until August 1955 when it was withdrawn from Carstairs shed to be scrapped during December 1955 at Kilmarnock works. Classmate No 1129 was also built at Horwich works but in December 1925 and ran in service for a similar period being withdrawn in May 1955 from Stranraer shed and scrapped during July 1955 by Kilmarnock works.
