Ex-LMS 4-6-0 Rebuilt Royal Scot Class No 46141 ' The North Staffordshire Regiment' is standing at the throat of the carriage sidings whilst carrying Class B head codes. British Railways classified a Class B service as 'Ordinary Passenger train, mixed train or breakdown van train NOT going to clear the line. Branch passenger train (To be used only where authorised by the regional Operating Officer).' Built by the North British Locomotive Company to Henry Fowler's parallel boiler design in November 1927, No 46141 was so numbered by British Railways in July 1948, still in its original form, as it wasn't rebuilt with Stanier's 2A tapered boiler until August 1950. The rebuilt locomotive was to have a short working life being withdrawn from 12B Carlisle Upperby shed in April 1964.
