A 1920 aerial view of Coventry shed showing the location of the original 45 foot diameter turntable and the carriage sidings. There appears to be four LNWR 0-6-0 locomotives, two on the same road leading to the coal hole with one partially hidden. The turntable is designed to accommodate two roads entering and departing, both very close together as is evident by the two sets of buffers positioned next to each other. Despite the year being 1920 it is clear that the station was located in a rural part of the city, 'Park Gardens' featuring on both sides of Quinton Road (on the right) and the railway. Philip Millard of the L&NWR Society writes regarding the carriages stabled opposite the shed, 'A bit indistinct, but the left-most carriage would appear to be a 54ft 0in brake-third to D.334, then two 57ft 0in lavatory composites of D.147. The D.334 has come from a Crewe-Holyhead set of 1913, apparently now disbanded'.
