A view of Coventry No 2 Signal Cabin, the only cabin provided by Saxby & Farmer in 1874 to survive the 1910 signalling installation, is seen surviving to the early 1960s. For many years the rear of the L&BR station building was screened from view by the roof of the parcels dock which stood in front of it. Demolition of the parcels shed occurred in 1961, as part of the station reconstruction for electrification has revealed this elevation, and provided a glimpse into the tiny back garden of the station house.
