LNWR 2-4-2T No 1823 draws into Coventry's up platform bunker first with a local passenger service. Its thought the service originally commenced from Nuneaton as there are three Midland Railway clerestory carriages in the makeup of the train. The first coach, is a L&NWR six-wheel design. The roof of the original L&BR station can be seen above the middle Midland Railway coach, giving a measure of the extent to which the station had 'migrated' eastwards in the direction of Rugby.
