An LMS Schematic diagram showing Coventry No 1 Signal Cabin's track layout of the junction with the Leamington branch. Because of the very short distance to Coventry No 2 Signal Cabin, the home signals for No 1 Cabin were also controlled (by a 'slot' mechanism) from No 2 Cabin. The signalman at No 1 Cabin was under instruction not to clear the down distant signal 52 until No 2 Cabin had also cleared his signals. To let the man in No 1 Cabin know when this had been done, his box was provided with large mechanically-operated discs which swung over when No 2 Cabin had 'pulled off. The distant signals under signals 46 and 51 referred not to Coventry No 2 Signal Cabin but to Coventry No 3 Signal Cabin which was located the other side of Warwick Road bridge, adjacent to the goods yard.
