An LMS Schematic diagram showing Coventry No 3 Signal Cabin's track layout with the Nuneaton branch and adjacent sidings. The 'bobby' (signalman) at Coventry No 3 Signal Cabin, like his colleague at Coventry No 1 Signal Cabin, was hampered in the operation of his respective junction by the absence of outer home signals on the lines approaching the converging junction. This meant that trains often had to be held back at the next signal cabin until a conflicting move had passed clear of the junction which was a very time costly procedure.
