Panoramic view of the rebuilding of the station taken from Stoney Road looking in the direction of Birmingham. The new Platform One still retains some of the old hard standing which was retained in the construction of the new platform by providing an edging stone and a top dressing of tarmac to match the other platforms. Even today the up platform's front fascia of this part of the platform can be seen to include original 1880 brickwork. On the left can be seen a Brake Van with two 5 plank open wagons holding the sand and gravel used to fill the new platforms.
