British Railways built Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T No 41236 stands on road 3 outside the original shed whilst an unidentified ex-LMS 0-6-0 4F stands on road 4. Whilst an LMS design it was in fact built as No 41236 at at Crewe works in September 1949 and remained in service until October 1962 when it was withdrawn from Llandudno Junction shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore of Great Bridge. There was an art in bunking Coventry shed (2F). Enter between rows 3 and 4, ask for permission to go round the shed at the foreman's office at the rear, if refused depart via rows 1 and 2 and you've seen the lot apart from anything at the coaling stage or turntable. Permission was usually given though.
