The first sign reads Wait Here For Third Class on local stopping trains. The second sign reads Way Out, whilst the third and fourth signs are identical to the first sign except they are notifying passengers where First and Second Class carriages will stop. As was often the case at railway stations, the management were not slow in exploiting the number of people using the station and generated additional income through selling advertising space. Most posters would in fact be enamelled signs which were more robust than paper based posters.
