LMS Route: Nuneaton to Coventry

A 1934 aerial view showing the long shunting spur which was adjacent to the Nuneaton branch's running lines. This was required so that the wagons in the yard's many sidings could be shunted without interfering with traffic on the Nuneaton branch. Wagons only generated revenue when they were carrying goods so penalties on the merchants were often levied if after three days they were still retaining the wagon to store the coal.
