The cellars below the L & B Curzon Street station which were built taking advantage of the sloping site and higher elevation of the L & B station. When the station was converted to goods traffic and had additional buildings built alongside, these too were provided with cellars. This 1913 view shows, according to Richard Foster, the cellars classified as a bonded store with the nearest barrels branded John Walker & Sons. Bonded Cellars were important to importers or producers of wines and spirits because they did not have to pay tax to Customs & Excise until the items were released from the store.
