Curzon Street Goods Station: lnwrcs1500
A LNWR electric trolley being demonstrated on the loading
deck at Curzon Street Goods Station in 1913. Above, attached to the roof, are
destination signs as seen in image 'lnwrcs1280' but this time for local areas. Richard Foster
records them as being Dudley, Albion, Wednesbury and Great Bridge which
are all close together within the greater Birmingham area. The above trolley is
being used to transport furniture which appears to have been wrapped in sacking
with straw being used to provide padding or, on the legs, as direct protect. On
the left is one of the many fixed position hydraulically operated cranes.
