An internal view of the entrance hall to Hardwick's building showing some of the decorative features circa 1938. The column is situated on the first floor whereas above the first floor, high vertical boarding was fixed against the inside of the handrails, preventing a view down into the hallway. Coat hooks were fitted all along the staircase and landing side of the boarding, which provided cloakroom accommodation for the staff.
