View of the new paper warehouse built to accommodate the requirements of the Post, Mail Gazette and Despatch. The photograph was taken in 1932 some two years after the warehouse was built and it was thought that at this time some 7000 rolls was in stock. As each roll was 4¼ miles long this meant the combined length was 30,000 miles weighing approximately 3000 tons in all. After the paper warehouse was destroyed during the blitz, the paper was stored in the grain warehouse.
