As all of the tracks were at the same level it meant that any shunting maneuvers into and out of Curzon Street would by definition impede traffic travelling on either main lines. Fortunately a good part of the traffic was at night and therefore such maneuvers did not cause the amount of disruption that would otherwise be the case.
