Curzon Street Good Station: lnwrcs2165c

Close up of the 1864 plan showing the expanded facilities of Top Yard at Curzon Street Goods Station

Close up of image 'lnwrcs2165' showing the 1864 plan of the expanded facilities at Curzon Street Goods Station's Top Yard. The site remains fairly open with just a few warehouses erected. The main goods shed is located on the corner of Curzon Street and Grosvenor Street. The building at the end of the sidings which crossed directly from the former passenger stations was for a brief period the station master's house and now converted to repairing and storing wagon sheets. To the left of the sidings running in parallel with Howe Street was just a basic structure to facilitate the off-loading of goods. This is the area that became the main stable block for the horses working the cartage at Curzon Street and parcel traffic at New Street station.
