A train has just departed for Sutton Coldfield as the young porter jumps down to cross to the other platform. Note the wicker baskets on the platform, the 'Wait Here for Third Class on Local Stopping Trains' and the two waiting rooms. David Moore writes 'I remember Erdington station well. The left hand waiting room was the 'Ladies' waiting room where there were comfortable settees and arm chairs. In the early 1960s Erdington won the best kept station award for many years running, the station master was a very formidable lady.'
