In turn these are for Third Class, First Class and Second Class passengers. This arrangement would be replicated at other stations between New Street and Sutton Coldfield as well as other railway companies' stations throughout the country. On the left is a partial view of a fire point, a place where fire buckets would be stationed in case of fire. With the number 4 clearly displayed and the name of the station its likely that there are four such buckets filled with sand or water hanging from the wall.
