British Railways built Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 No 46446 is seen pulling out of Foleshill station's goods yard at the head of train of oil tanks circa 1956. Following a query as to the true location of this photograph, John Hyde writes 'I can confirm that this photograph was taken at the exit from Foleshill goods yard at Camptons factory'. Built at Crewe works in March 1949, No 46446 remained in service until December 1966 when it was withdrawn from Shrewsbury shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore of Newport in September 1967. Reg Kimber writes 'No 46445 and No 46446 were possibly the only new locos allocated to Coventry shed in its entire history and consequently there was great excitement at school when they arrived'.
