on Lockhurst Lane. Established in 1908, Shanks & Sons, a timber merchant as
was Kelley's of Foleshill Road and founded in 1885, was one of a number of
building product related companies that were located in Foleshill . The first
was a brick kiln in Foleshill in 1775, whilst a number of brick works were
established at several sites during the 19th century. Concrete works had also
appeared by 1902 and were located at both Great Heath and at Edgwick.
