LMS Route: Grand Junction Railway
Hamstead and Great Barr Station: lnwrgb61
Looking towards Bescot from the Birmingham end of the down
platform as LNWR 0-6-0 No 710 passes through the station circa 1921. The first
vehicle is a GWR one-plank wagon whilst the next four are four appear to be
four-plank open mineral wagons carrying coal for use by the LNWR's own
locomotives as they have the legend 'LOCO' on their side. The next five wagons
are also mineral wagons carrying coal but appear to be Private Owner wagons.
Behind the coal wagons are a mix of vans and open wagons carrying a variety of
different types of goods.
