LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Harborne

Looking towards Hagley Road with the down home signal in the off position thereby accepting a train to arrive at Harborne goods yard in 1949. The timber sleepers laid across the tracks were officially designated as a level crossing. There was no specific road on either side and therefore it must be an urban right of way between Rose Road which was on the left and Birmingham Corporation's depot and store which was immediately adjacent to the railway on the right.
