LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton
Hampton in Arden Station: lnwrhia687
View of the modified station booking hall, showing the
cantilevered roof over the main entrance now being much reduced in depth. On
the left it can be seen that the original passenger footbridge has been removed
which has resulted in the bridge wall being rebuilt at a lower height. The LNWR
station at Hampton in Arden was opened 1st September 1884 and was given the
suffix 'in Arden' by the LNWR to differentiate it from the original B&DJR
station which as can be seen in image 'lnwrhiaj1560' was originally named Derby Junction
but later changed to Hampton.
