Ex-LNWR 2-4-2T No 46757 crosses over from the down Stour Valley line on to Harborne Junction on 3rd June 1950. The smokebox shedplate displaying '3C' indicates that at the time of the special, the locomotive was allocated to Ryecroft Shed in Walsall. Built at Crewe works in July 1897 as LNWR No 1468, No 46757, was renumbered by the LMS in December 1927 as No 6757, and again by British Railways in May 1949 when it was numbered No 46757 which it carried until February 1953 when it was withdrawn from 2A Rugby shed. It was scrapped the following month despite some efforts to preserve it. Had it lasted another few years it is most likely it would have been preserved.
