The aftermath of an accident when ten wagons and a brakevan
careered down the line from Rotton Park station into buffers at the trap points
situated opposite Harborne Junction Signal Cabin on 31st October 1953. One or
two wagons then shot through the fence and landed in the canal, and the main
line to the north was blocked for several hours. Fortunately there were no
injuries. Mark Vrettos wrote. 'it looks like they broke the Footbridge over
the Canal, there's quite a few Footbridges over the Canal in this area.
